- Raw water pretreatment
When the raw water is surface water, the purpose of pretreatment is to remove suspended matter, colloidal matter, and organic matter. Sand and carbon filtration equipment are usually installed to filter into clean water.
Wedge wire filter is needed in quartz sand filter or activated carbon filter to retain filter medium and filter.
- Boiler water softening treatment
The hard salt of calcium and magnesium in water is transformed into nonscaling salt by ion exchange resin to prevent the formation of calcium magnesium hard scale in the inner wall of the boiler pipe. For the water with calcium-magnesium bicarbonate and high alkalinity, the method of ion exchange of sodium hydrogen or pretreatment can be used to solve it.

- Boiler water desalination treatment
With the continuous improvement of boiler parameters and the emergence of the once-through boiler, it is even required to remove all the salt in the boiler feedwater, so the method of salt removal must be adopted. There are many kinds of ion exchangers used in chemical desalting, the most commonly used are cation exchange resin and anion exchange resin, referred to as “cation resin” and “anion resin”. In the ion exchanger, when the brine flows through the resin, the cations and anions in the salt are removed after being transformed with the cations (H +) and anions (OH -) in the resin respectively.
When the alkalinity of water is high, in order to reduce the burden of the anion exchanger and improve the economy of system operation, it is generally required to connect the decarbonator in series after cation exchanger to remove carbon dioxide. For water with high salt content, reverse osmosis or electrodialysis process can also be used to desalinate the water first, and then enter the ion exchanger for deep desalination. For a high-pressure boiler or once-through boiler, trace silicon in feed water must be removed; Medium and low-pressure boilers are treated according to the content.
