Pool filter media
With the renewal and iteration of swimming pool technology, water quality filtration technology is also developing. Take swimming pool filter media, for example, the function of swimming pool filter media is to filter the suspended particles and colloidal pollutants in the water, so as to improve the clarity of the water. Therefore, it plays a very important role in the water treatment of the swimming pool.
There are many kinds of filter media in the swimming pool today. Different filter media should be selected according to different water quality conditions to treat water.
Quartz sand filtration
As a traditional swimming pool filtration medium, quartz sand filtration has the advantages of high hardness, large water treatment capacity, and stable and reliable effluent quality. It can remove suspended solids, colloids, sediment, and other impurities in the water, so it is an ideal swimming pool filtration medium.
The disadvantage is that quartz sand is easy to harden, which reduces the filtration effect, and the later maintenance cost is also high. In the long run, it is not a good choice.

Diatomite filtration
Diatomite, as a natural filter medium, has the fineness and porosity of particles, which can naturally and effectively intercept and adsorb. It can not only clean up the suspended solids in the pool water but also remove the organic matter, sporozoites and bacteria in the water to a certain extent.
The filtration effect is better than that of quartz sand to a certain extent, but the price and cost of diatomite are relatively high.

Perlite filtration
Perlite is a dense glassy rock formed by volcanism. After its particles condense, its space volume accounts for 80-90%. In other words, 80-90% of the filter bed composed of this material is air.
Through this process, the liquid can be filtered, and those solid particles in a suspended state are intercepted, thus achieving high filtration speed and clarity.
But at the same filtration rate, the clarity of the filtrate obtained by perlite is not as good as that by diatomite.
