Aiming at the shortcomings of the old-fashioned resin traps, a new type of resin trap has been developed. It has the advantages of not being easy to block the filter screen, small running resistance, and time-saving and labor-saving maintenance.

Resin trap. It is mainly used in the water treatment system and is one of the indispensable equipment of the water treatment system. The key material in water treatment systems is ion exchange resins. The particle size is 0.45~1.25mm.
After being broken, it is easy to leak into pure water, and then enter the boiler, where it is decomposed into acidic substances at high temperatures. Thereby seriously affecting the quality of soft drinks. In order to prevent this substance from leaking into pure water, a resin trap is installed at the outlet of the ion exchanger in most cases. Problems with older resin traps
The original old-fashioned resin trap is generally composed of an outer cylinder, a hole tube, a polyester sleeve net, a water inlet and outlet, and a grease outlet. Water enters from the water inlet. The resin particles that leak into the water are intercepted by the polyester sleeve net, and the pure water flows out from the water outlet through the filter screen and the hole tube. When the interception on the filter increases to a certain amount. The resistance of the system increases, the output decreases, and the filter needs to be cleaned.
Because the retentate contains a small number of impurities such as organic matter and oil. A viscous liquid substance forms which are difficult to clean up by backwashing. The bulky outer cylinder had to be removed, and the polyester sleeve net removed and cleaned with detergent. After washing, restore the device.
This kind of cleaning method is backward, and on the one hand, the maintenance labor intensity is large. On the other hand, the equipment needs to be dismantled and overhauled, thus affecting normal water production.
New air-scrubbing resin trap
Newly developed air scrubbing resin trap, equipment features:
- The polyester casing net is set on the inner wall of the hole pipe. And make the sleeve pipe network longer than the hole pipe.
- Through the filter pressure ring, O-ring, rear end cover, fixed adjustment bolts, and flexible rubber joints, it becomes a tight hole.
During operation, water enters from the water inlet elbow. Pass through the polyester sleeve net, and perforated pipe, and flow out from the outlet pipe.
Resin and debris are trapped by the polyester sleeve mesh. When the retentate increases to a certain amount, the system resistance increases. Retentate needs to be removed, otherwise, the operation will be affected.
At this time, close the access door of the resin trap. Under the action of gravity of water, the polyester sleeve net leans up and down together. Open the valve of the exhaust pipe, and pass the compressed air from the compressed air pipe, under the impact of the air bubbles. Prompt the filter screen to wriggle and rub so that the sundries are peeled off from the filter screen.
Then close the compressed air door and slightly open the resin trap inlet door. Open the fat-discharging door and the water-repelling door. Rinse the filter until the water in and out is as clear, and the device can be put into operation.
If the inlet of the resin trap is, there is a system to drain into the trench. It is also not necessary to discharge from the fat discharge door. Drain trapped resin or debris from the resin trap inlet instead.
Benefits of the New Air Scrubbing Resin Trap
The resin trapped in the filter can be removed easily and is labor-saving. The cleaning process of the filter adopts the compressed air scrubbing method. It is not necessary to disassemble the equipment, only to operate a few valves.
Improve the utilization rate of equipment and make the system output more stable. The air scrubbing time is about 10-20 minutes each time, and the equipment can be cleaned by using the gap between equipment (stop) and use. Greatly improved the utilization rate of the equipment.
At the same time, passive cleaning can be changed into active cleaning. Because cleaning the old-fashioned resin trap is very troublesome, the past situation is: after the resin trap accumulates grease, the resistance gradually increases. There are weak links in the system equipment. Such as peephole, and individual flange leakage, the system was forced to stop. Make the system output fluctuate periodically.
Now, since cleaning the filter screen can be done weekly or monthly, the filter can be regularly air-scrubbed. Make the filter always work in a clean state. The resistance of the filter screen is always at the minimum operating condition, thus ensuring the stability of the system output.
The equipment has the characteristics of convenient maintenance and labor-saving. It can be used until the polyester sleeve network is damaged and the resin leaks, and then the filter is replaced. Compared with the overhaul of the original old-fashioned resin trap, it is very simple.
Older-style resin traps required the bulky outer slide to be removed from the system to replace the resin trap filter. 28 inlet and outlet flange screws need to be removed, and lifting equipment such as a manual chain hoist is required.
Need overhaul worker 4-5 people simultaneously, will work 2-4 h, could finish. For the new resin catcher, only 12 bolts of the overhaul end cover need to be removed. The orifice tube can then be fully withdrawn from the rear. It is not necessary to remove the outer cylinder from the pipe.
After replacing the wedge wire candle filter, put it back into the hole tube, install the rear end cover, and tighten the bolts. No lifting tools are needed, and it only takes 10 to 20 minutes for 1 to 2 people to complete.
Today’s water treatment technology is developing rapidly. The general trend is: the output of the system is getting bigger and bigger, and the flow rate is getting faster and faster. Especially condensate water polishing technology.
The problem of broken resin is unavoidable. This requires a resin trap with low resistance, a large flow rate, constant cleaning of the filter surface, and convenient maintenance.
The newly developed air-scrubbing resin trap meets the above requirements. And will produce better economic benefits, compared with the old-fashioned resin trap. The downside is the addition of air scrubbing lines.
However, general power plants need to regenerate the top pressure, the action of the pneumatic diaphragm valve, and the stirring of the neutralization tank. Most have a compressed air system with oil purification equipment. This creates conditions for the application of air-scrubbing resin traps in power systems.
