Application of Wedge Wire Screen in Brine Filtration

JOHNSON SCREEN

Brine is widely used in industry and food processing, so it is very important to select the filter device for brine. A wedge wire screen filter is the best solution.

At present, GEA has developed a new type of saltwater filtration device called “GEA ScreenFilter”, and wedge wire screen products is an important filter element.
The device passively filters the brine by gravity, avoiding protein activation that can block the needle.
The brine flows downward through a curved wedge wire screen (We call it to sieve bend screen or DSM screen) under the action of gravity, and the solid-liquid separation of impurities and dilute brine is completed.
The purpose of the device is to inject saltwater into foods such as ham and bacon to extend their shelf life.

Why choose a wedge wire screen (sieve bend screen) as a filter element?

  • The V-shaped wire structure is not easy to block.
  • Easy to clean and replace.
  • The filtration effect is stable.
  • No power, energy-saving, and environmental protection.
  • Avoid saltwater waste.

Material: Stainless steel 304, 316, 316L, 904, 904L, and super duplex stainless steel.
Type: wedge wire screen panels.
Slot size: More than 10 microns.
Profile wire and support rod: as your need.
Surface treatment: Pickling, passivation, and grinding.
Filter medium: dilute brine.

The DSM screen also has a disadvantage, that is, it can only handle dilute brine.
If concentrated brine needs to be treated, Bluslot recommends the use of a rotary drum screen for better results.

Bluslot filter focuses on the design, customization, processing, and production of wedge wire screen products. Over the past 20 years, our products have been exported to more than 80 countries and regions and accumulated rich production experience.
