Centrifugal Resin Trap

The resin trap is a device used to trap resin particles that are carried out of the ion exchanger with water. 

When using resins for online water treatment. When the quality of the resin is poor, the water pressure is turbulent, and the wall of the resin cylinder is damaged, the resin will enter the entire water system and affect the normal operation of other equipment in the system. Therefore, a resin trap needs to be installed. 

Resin trap installation location. The main thing is to install a filter screen with a pore size much smaller than that of the resin on the water system pipeline near the outlet of the ion exchanger and other equipment containing the resin.

And though a part of the water flow carrying resin particles is filtered out from the filter screen cylindrical sidewall. However, due to gravity and other reasons, most of the water flow directly impacts the bottom of the filter screen. As a result, the filter screen at the bottom is too late to filter, and the resin particles are seriously deposited. And the utilization rate of the side wall filter is too low. 

For the shortcomings of the prior art. The utility model provides a centrifugal resin catcher. Can make full use of the side wall filter to filter raw water. Capture resin particles and work more efficiently. 

Technical solutions 

  • Centrifugal resin trap including housing, water inlet assembly, and centrifugal filter unit. The water inlet assembly and the centrifugal filter device are arranged in the casing. 
  • The water inlet assembly is fixedly connected close to the upper part of the housing, and the centrifugal filter device is connected below the water inlet assembly. 
  • A vertical shaft is fixedly connected to the central shaft on the water inlet assembly. 
  • The lower end of the vertical shaft is sleeved with a bearing. 
  • The centrifugal filter assembly includes a strainer basket, twisted vanes, and a resin collection chamber. 
  • The wedge wire screen water filter mesh basket is in a U-shaped structure. 
  • The filter basket is covered with sieve holes smaller than the particle size of the resin particles.  
  • One end of the torsion blade is fixedly connected to the outside of the bearing in a vertical state.

  • Its other end is fixedly connected to the side wall of the water strainer basket close to the opening. 
  • The resin collection chamber is connected to the bottom of the resin trap filter
  • Resin particles trapped in the strainer basket can sink down into the resin collection chamber to be collected. 
  • A recovery pipe is connected to the bottom of the resin collection chamber, and the recovery pipe passes through the housing to connect with a suction pump. 

Beneficial effect 

  • The centrifugal filter device in the utility model utilizes a group of torsion blades to drive the water filter basket to rotate. The water flow to be filtered acts as a source of power to impinge on the twisting blades. 
    The strainer basket and the twisting blades are integrally rotated around a vertical axis. The raw water in the filter basket is centrifugally moved, and the rotating water flow forms a vortex. 
    Resin particles are trapped in the strainer basket. The water flow is evenly thrown out of the basket from all sides of the side wall of the strainer basket. Enter the lower liquid phase space. 
    This form of filtration is not only faster than traditional static filtration. Moreover, in the filtering process, every position on the side wall and the bottom of the water filter basket is fully used. Resin particles will not accumulate on the bottom of the basket due to gravity alone. 
  • The collected water flow has a certain impact force when it flows into the centrifugal filter device below. At the same time, it can prevent part of the untreated liquid from splashing and directly flowing into the lower liquid phase space when the water flow flows into the centrifugal filter device.
