In the gold industry, carbon slurry extraction technology is the main modern gold production process, so the application of carbon retention screens in this industry is essential.

The carbon retention screen is used in the cyaniding carbon pulp plant. The activated carbon is separated from the pulp by the screen, so that the pulp flows to the next leaching tank, while the activated carbon is left in the leaching tank. This product is especially suitable for oxidized ores with large mud content.

All sliming cyanidation and carbon leaching have been widely used in gold mines at home and abroad due to its strong adaptability, low capital investment, and low production cost.

The interstage screen is necessary equipment in the process of carbon leaching. Whether the interstage screen works normally or not is related to the stability of various process conditions of the cyaniding carbon pulp process.

Causes of blockage

When the slurry flow direction (the slurry flow direction is consistent with the tangent direction of the impeller rotation track of the mixing tank) is the same as that of the slurry end discharged from the screen, the mixture of pulp and carbon particles will move to the left end (the discharge end of the sieve) together under the joint action of impeller mixing and air filling. When it touches the screen, the pulp can pass through the screen, Under the action of inertia force (the direction of inertia force is consistent with the direction of discharge end), it can pass through the discharge end of the interstage screen and discharge into the leaching tank smoothly.

However, the carbon particles can not pass through the screen and adhere to the outer surface of the screen under its own inertia and subsequent pulp impact.

The mixture of slurry and carbon particles continuously rushes to the interstage screen, which causes more and more carbon particles on the outer surface of the screen cylinder, and finally blocks up the whole screen surface, resulting in the phenomenon of “carbon blockage”. When the “carbon blocking” phenomenon lasts for a long time, the pulp surface in the leaching tank will increase, resulting in the “slurry” phenomenon.

Due to the high concentration of pulp, large mud content, and fine screen, carbon blocking often occurs in carbon screen, resulting in unstable recovery rate of “slurry” and “carbon loss”, which affects the normal production.

The problem of “carbon blocking” in the intermediate screen of the leaching tank has always been an important problem affecting the production index and normal production in the carbon slurry (leaching) gold extraction plant. In view of this problem, the carbon separation screen of bluslot can effectively avoid the occurrence of carbon blockage and can obtain a higher gold recovery rate and grade, so it is widely used.
